The Russian Gymnastics Federation and athlete Victoria Listunova have filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the decision of World Gymnastics to refuse to grant neutral status. This was reported on January 23 on the website of the FGR press service.

"The Russian Gymnastics Federation, together with Victoria Listunova, decided to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in connection with the refusal to grant neutral status to the athlete," the statement said.

The Russian Federation stressed that the appeal to CAS is exclusively legal in nature and is aimed at obtaining an independent assessment of the decision made in the interests of the athlete.

Earlier, on December 21, 2025, it was reported that the World Archery Federation allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes under the age of 21 to compete in international tournaments in a neutral status. The decision was made following a meeting of the executive board of the organization in Switzerland. It provides for participation without national symbols and applies, among other things, to athletes from CSKA and Dynamo, as well as to the Russian youth national team.
