About 8 km of distillation tunnels were laid in the Moscow metro in 2025.
In 2025, about 8 km of transfer tunnels were built in the Moscow Metro. This was announced on Friday, January 23, by Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Urban Planning and Construction.
According to him, during the year, 10 tunnel complexes with diameters of 6 and 10 m covered a distance comparable to the route from the Kremlin to VDNKh. The first stage of the Troitskaya Line, 27 km long with 11 stations and five transfers, was also completed, according to the Moscow City News Agency.
Yefimov noted that work on expanding the metro network continues around the clock in difficult hydrogeological conditions. Currently, ten shields are simultaneously laying new sections on the Biryulevskaya, Troitskaya, Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya and Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya lines. Last year, six billboards operated on the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line at once, which made it possible to complete the tunneling at a number of key sites. The first segment of this line from the Business Center to General Karbyshev Boulevard is planned to be opened this year, the website writes kp.ru .
Maxim Gaman, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, explained that modern tunneling shields greatly simplify the work of metro builders: machines develop the soil, bring it to the surface and immediately install reinforced concrete lining of tunnels.
