The speech of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos was a direct insult to the European Union (EU). This was announced on January 23 by the newspaper The European Conservative (TEC).

"In an open insult to European leaders, he (Zelensky — Ed.) stated that it was [Russian President Vladimir] Putin is deciding what the fate of the frozen Russian assets will be," the newspaper writes.

According to TEC, Zelensky, who spoke in an accusatory tone, actually lectured Europe, accusing it of not supporting Kiev enough. He said that Europe should do more to stop the flow of Russian oil and gas, as well as create a common EU army.

The publication notes that the audience listened to the performance in stunned silence.

On January 22, Zelensky criticized the EU for its inability to defend itself. He also called ineffective the military capabilities of the Europeans, in particular the fact of sending 40 soldiers to Greenland, questioning the meaning of such a symbolic step and its message.

On the same day, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani called Zelensky ungrateful after his speech at the WEF. The politician stressed that the contribution of the EU countries in support of Ukraine was significant and played a key role in ensuring its sustainability.

Zelensky's speech was also criticized by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, whom the head of the Kiev regime insulted during his speech. The Hungarian prime minister said that Zelensky crossed the line when he criticized EU leaders during a speech in Davos.
