The head of Tuva, Vladislav Khovalyg, and the CEO of ROSSETI, Andrey Ryumin, discussed the development of energy infrastructure, participation in the federal Clean Air project and the operation of electric grids in conditions of extreme frosts in the region. The results of the meeting are reported by the Rosseti press service.

It is noted that in January, against the background of a sharp cold snap in Tuva, power engineers introduced a high-alert mode, and the load on the region's energy system increased significantly. There were no large-scale power failures. All necessary measures have been taken to minimize the risks. More than 450 specialists were involved. Preparations for winter were carried out as part of the repair program in advance. In 2026, ROSSETI plans to increase its financing by almost 10% to 283 million rubles.

Khovalyg stressed that the stable functioning of the energy system in extreme frosts was the result of "well-coordinated work of all services and timely preparation for the winter period." He highly appreciated ROSSETI's contribution to the energy security of the region and stated that the development of Tuva's energy sector is the foundation for "the growth of the region's economy and improving people's quality of life." "New energy transits will open up additional opportunities for the implementation of industrial and social projects," the head of the region added.

According to Ryumin, ROSSETI continues to work on promising projects. In 2025, three substations of the Tuva Power Ring were opened to increase system reliability. "The renovated facilities have provided conditions for the development of the central and eastern regions, and the transfer of additional power from the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP," he said.

In 2026, it is planned to include the 220 kV Shushenskaya-Opornaya —Turan transit, which will strengthen the energy links between Tuva and Khakassia. Power lines will also be built for the Ak-Sugskoye deposit, which is one of the five largest in Russia in terms of copper reserves. The total length of the transits will be 550 km, Ryumin said, pointing out that "the development of the energy infrastructure of Eastern Siberia is one of the priorities" of Rosseti.
