Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev shared on January 23 that he won the third round of the 2026 Australian Open due to the fact that he stopped being angry with himself.

"After the first set, I was angry at myself for not playing a little better. It affected me in the second set, but then I realized that I needed to let go of the situation and just think about what needed to be done. In the fifth set, I tried to stay calm," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Medvedev became the first player at the current Australian Open tournament to win a match after losing the first two sets. He will play American Lerner Tin in the fourth round of the Australian Open, Sport-Express adds.
