In Irkutsk, a coach rescued a boy from a burning car
In Irkutsk, Andrey Gelgorin, a children's football coach, rescued a child from a car that caught fire in a parking lot. Due to the severe frost, it took a while to get the boy out of the locked car - that day the temperature outside dropped below -30 degrees. The details of the incident were told to Izvestia on January 23 by the man himself.
On January 19, Gelgorin left the Zenit sports complex after training and noticed black smoke enveloping a parked car. According to him, the owner of the car left to pick up her daughter from training, and locked her son in the cabin strapped to a child safety seat.
The woman's car was blocked, and the coach's attempts to smash the side window with his foot remained unsuccessful. Two eyewitnesses soon came to his aid.
"They tried to smash it with a balloon, but it didn't work out. Someone gave me a hammer, the window was smashed, the glass was torn out, and smoke billowed. There was no sign of the child. He was sitting in the back seat, strapped in, and the child safety seat was yanked out the second time," Andrei clarified.
The car engulfed in flames could not be extinguished independently, the fire was extinguished by rescuers. According to the coach, the car burned down almost entirely — only the hood remained of it.
"We don't know the reason, let the examination sort it out. Mom said that she recently made repairs at a car service station. Smoke poured out from under the wheel, perhaps a fire started somewhere in the gas tank," the man suggested.
In Balashikha, Moscow region, on December 27, 2025, two brothers aged nine and 11 were riding down a slide near a residential complex on Yaganova Street and fell through the ice. Two men who happened to be nearby came to their aid. The first passerby pushed the younger one onto the ice, while supporting the older one. Later, the second joined them, he helped both children to get out and provided first aid to the youngest. One of the men who saved the children, Artur Panov, said that he himself ended up in the water helping the boys.
