A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In response to the terrorist attacks by Ukraine on civilian targets in Russia, the Russian Armed Forces carried out massive and five group strikes, which affected enterprises of the military industry of Ukraine, energy and transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), ammunition and fuel depots, production workshops, storage facilities, pre-flight training and launches of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as temporary locations for Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries.

As a result of the active offensive actions of the units of the North group of forces in the Kharkiv direction, control was established over the settlement of Siminovka in the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian formations in the Sumy region were also defeated. The enemy lost more than 1,110 people, nine armored combat vehicles, 107 vehicles, and 18 field artillery pieces. 10 electronic warfare and counter-battery warfare stations, 23 ammunition and materiel depots were destroyed.

The military personnel of the Zapad group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions and defeated the manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces units. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces in this area amounted to over 1,400 soldiers, two tanks, 18 armored combat vehicles, 150 vehicles and 11 field artillery pieces. 29 ammunition depots were destroyed.

As a result of decisive actions, the southern group of troops liberated the settlement of Privolye in the DPR. Formations of six mechanized, motorized infantry, airmobile, assault, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and a defense brigade were also defeated. The enemy lost more than 1,255 fighters, 33 armored combat vehicles, including two Stryker armored vehicles and four M113 armored personnel carriers manufactured by the United States. 80 vehicles, 18 artillery pieces, six of them Western-made, 13 radio-electronic and counter-battery warfare stations, 11 ammunition depots, fuel and materiel were destroyed.

The Center group of troops continued active offensive operations and liberated the settlement of Novopavlovka in the DPR. The enemy's manpower and equipment were also hit. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 2,970 people, four tanks, including a Leopard tank manufactured by Germany, 33 armored combat vehicles, 50 vehicles and 15 field artillery pieces, including two 155-mm Paladin self-propelled artillery units manufactured by the United States.

The units of the Vostok group of forces advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses and liberated the settlement of Priluki in the Zaporizhia region. In total, the enemy lost more than 1,740 soldiers, three tanks, 23 armored combat vehicles, 67 vehicles, 11 artillery pieces, and three ammunition and materiel depots in the group's area of responsibility.

As a result of coordinated actions, the military personnel of the Dnepr group of forces liberated the village of Pavlovka, Zaporizhia region. The manpower and equipment of the mechanized, mountain assault brigades and two coastal defense brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 335 militants, 37 vehicles, two artillery pieces, 13 electronic warfare stations and five material depots.

During the week, eight multiple launch rocket systems combat vehicles, three of them Western-made, as well as an Osa anti-aircraft missile system combat vehicle, were destroyed by unmanned aerial vehicles, rocket troops and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Air defense systems shot down 35 guided aerial bombs, 47 US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, seven Neptune long-range guided missiles and 1,468 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 110,812 unmanned aerial vehicles, 646 anti-aircraft missile systems, 27,279 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,650 multiple rocket launchers, 32,775 field artillery guns and mortars, 52,611 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
