The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) must leave the territory of Donbass — this is a necessary condition for the settlement of the conflict. This was announced on January 23 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"Russia's position is well known that Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces must leave the territory of Donbass, must be withdrawn from there. This is a very important condition," Peskov said.
