The framework agreement on Greenland, reached by US President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, provides for the expansion of the alliance's military presence on the island and restrictions for Russia and China. This was reported on January 23 by The Times newspaper.
According to the publication, the agreement stipulates that the Treaty on the Protection of Greenland, signed in 1951 by Washington and Copenhagen, will be updated. The United States will receive full autonomy and absolute immunity for its military personnel on the island.
