California Governor Newsom criticized Trump for Davos visit
US President Donald Trump has criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom for traveling to the World Economic Forum in Davos, calling him a "lame duck" and accusing him of shaming the country. He announced this on January 22 in his Truth Social network.
"He made a fool of himself, and everyone, including his staff, knows it!" Trump added.
According to the American leader, Newsom should not have participated in the summit, demanding the attention of foreign leaders and casting a shadow on the United States. The governor of California is among the likely Democratic candidates for the 2028 presidential election, which has previously provoked sharp comments from Trump.
Earlier it was reported that on January 15, the White House sharply criticized the Governor of Minnesota, Tim Waltz, for his initiative to record possible arbitrariness of immigration and customs control officers. According to the authorities, the politician's intervention in this issue seemed untimely and ineffective.
