The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, announced on January 23 following the summit that in the near future the EC will present an investment plan for Greenland and intends to double financial support for the region.
"In the next multi-year budget, we have provided for doubling financial support for Greenland.… Right now we are working on strengthening EU relations with Greenland," she said on the social network X.
Von der Leyen noted that within the framework of this, the EC will soon put forward a significant package of investments.
