Roskachestvo expert Ekaterina Khripko spoke about the non-obvious benefits of pomelo.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, January 22, she noted that pomelo belongs to low-calorie foods and can be used in dietary nutrition as an alternative to sweets and desserts. At the same time, according to her, the claims about the fruit's ability to burn fat or speed up metabolism have no scientific confirmation.

She noted that the main value of pomelo is its high content of vitamin C and potassium, which are beneficial for the cardiovascular system. The expert emphasized that this citrus fruit contains more vitamin C than lemon and orange, and its low glycemic index makes it suitable for people who control blood sugar levels.

At the same time, the specialist warned that pomelo is not recommended for stomach diseases, high acidity, severe allergic reactions and while taking certain medications. According to her, the fruit can be included in the diet for a variety, but it should be consumed in moderation.
