- The Russian Embassy in Germany has requested access to the accused of supplying aid to Donbass.
The Russian Embassy in Germany has requested consular access to a Russian man who was detained on charges of delivering humanitarian supplies to Donbas. This was announced on January 22 in the press service of the Russian diplomatic mission.
The ministry also expressed outrage over the fact that the official interpretation of the German Prosecutor General's Office refers to the support of alleged terrorist groups in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Lugansk People's Republic (LPR).
"We have strongly rejected such formulations as unacceptable and legally null and void. They demanded an explanation of who made such a determination and on what basis," the embassy's Telegram channel said.
At the same time, the Russian Embassy stated that they see in Berlin's approach a desire to criminalize any contacts with residents and organizations of Donbass, including humanitarian aid.
The day before, it was reported that two people were detained in the German city of Brandenburg — a Russian citizen Suren A. and a German citizen Falco H. — on charges of supporting the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. It was noted that since 2016, the detainees had been in high positions in an association that organized the delivery of food and medicine to Donbass, as well as drones for the DPR and LPR.
