The European security system is deteriorating, and the whole world is approaching a military catastrophe. This was announced on January 22 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Dmitry Polyansky.

According to him, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is at a point of existential crisis.

"The European security system is deteriorating before our eyes. Our continent, and with it the whole world, is sliding towards a military catastrophe," he said during a speech at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council, his words are quoted by TASS.

Polyansky also stressed that in Europe today, instead of readiness for analysis, the logic of military escalation prevails. According to him, the OSCE must balance its agenda in such a way that it reflects the concerns of all participating states without exception.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on January 20 that NATO and the European Union (EU) were experiencing a profound crisis, while the OSCE was "breathing hard." After the collapse of the Soviet Union, NATO, the EU and the OSCE, according to him, began to be used to introduce Russia's traditional influence into regions, including the South Caucasus, Central Asia and the Far East.

Alexander Grushko, Deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on December 4 that the West had turned the OSCE into an instrument of hybrid warfare and coercion, and countries that guided national interests were being threatened and blackmailed.
