Mishustin pointed to the growth of domestic production of electric vehicles in Russia
Internally, the production of electric vehicles in Russia is growing. This was announced on January 22 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a government meeting.
"The segment of electric vehicles is currently expanding in the automotive industry. Not only are supplies coming from abroad, but our domestic production is also increasing, which is very important," Mishustin said.
He also noted that the government will create special mechanisms to support electric transport, which will allow funds to be allocated for the construction of charging hubs.
Earlier, on January 13, AvtoVAZ delivered 33 Lada e-Largus vans to the Mosgortrans State Unitary Enterprise fleet. The electric vehicles will be used for operational repairs and maintenance of Moscow's surface urban transport infrastructure. AvtoVAZ noted that Lada e-Largus is the first Russian electric car with a domestic battery of deep localization.
Before that, on December 5, 2025, the developers of the domestic model from the startup Kama said that it would be possible to see Russian Atom electric vehicles on the roads in the spring of 2026. They are planned to be produced in three versions: for private use, taxi and carsharing. The Atom can travel up to 500 km on a single charge, and up to 350 km at -20 °C.
