The Moscow City Court refused to consider a criminal case against historian Tamara Eidelman (listed by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the register of foreign agents), accused of two episodes of rehabilitating Nazism and spreading fakes about the Russian Armed Forces. This was reported to Izvestia in court on January 22.
It is specified that the case was returned to the prosecutor's office. The criminal case of Eidelman was submitted to the Moscow City Court on January 13.
A criminal case on the rehabilitation of Nazism against Eidelman was opened on January 4. Then she was accused of committing a crime under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Rehabilitation of Nazism using the Internet").
Prior to that, at the end of June 2024, the Moscow prosecutor's office also opened a case against Eidelman under Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Rehabilitation of Nazism committed by a group of persons, by prior agreement or using a network"). On October 31, a court in Moscow arrested Eidelman in absentia for rehabilitating Nazism and spreading fakes about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces. On December 29, the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor's office reported that an indictment had been approved in the criminal case against the historian.
