More than 30 industrial accidents occurred in the Arctic in 2025

In the Murmansk region, 32 accidents with serious consequences were registered at production sites in 2025, which, among other things, led to the death of the victim. These are the data of the regional State Labor Inspectorate.

The majority of such incidents (8) occurred in the areas of transportation and storage. The main reasons are the unsatisfactory organization of production, the violation of labor regulations by the employee himself and the imperfection of the technological process, writes the Bi-port news agency.

Falls from heights, traffic accidents, and the effects of machinery, parts, and moving objects were most often recorded.

In 2024, 34 accidents were registered at production sites in the Murmansk Region.

In mid-December, the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation allowed the collection of interest for delayed payments in industrial injury cases. The Constitutional Court issued such a decision, indicating that the norm of the Labor Code on the employer's responsibility for late payment, for example, compensation for moral damage, may be applied in this case. Previously, employees were denied interest payments.
