- An ancient bas-relief was found during the restoration of the Radio House in St. Petersburg
In St. Petersburg, during the restoration of the Radio House, experts discovered a bas-relief from the 1910s. The pre-revolutionary stucco was found when the chimney was being cleaned.
At the edges of the composition there are two decorative elements in the form of male heads, and in the center there are sculptures of two young men.
Experts have lifted documents from the archive and found that the fragments belong to the stucco design by Vasily Kosyakov. As he writes 78.ru The plaster bas-relief was the decoration of the historical hall, where the Third Studio of the Radio House was later opened.
The original bas-relief was destroyed in the 1930s, its fragments were used as construction debris, and the smoke channel was filled in.
Fragments of the bas-relief will be preserved as evidence of the original appearance of the hall.
Earlier it was reported that the restoration of the Hansen house, which is located on the corner of Malaya Konyushennaya Street and Nevsky Prospekt, was completed earlier than planned in St. Petersburg. Initially, the work was planned to be completed by May 2026, but the manufacturer dismantled the scaffolding and took them away. The owner of the building initiated the work after he received the relevant requirements from the KGIOP for the preservation of the cultural heritage site.
