- The Prosecutor General's Office has appealed the court's decision to seize Ivanov's assets.
The Prosecutor General's Office has appealed the decision of the Presnensky Court of Moscow on a claim for the seizure of property of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov and his relatives worth more than 1.2 billion rubles. This became known on January 22.
"Appealed. An appeal has been [registered] (Anatoly V. Razinkin, First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation)," according to the documents reviewed by TASS.
As noted in the court's decision, the first instance refused to satisfy the requirements of the Prosecutor General's Office only in terms of the 2004 Bentley Continental GT car issued to Ivanov's ex-wife Svetlana Zakharova. The rest of the claim is satisfied in full.
The court found that Ivanov used unconfirmed income to acquire shares in four companies worth over 70 million rubles, 44 real estate properties in Moscow, Karelia, Moscow and Tver regions, premium class cars and luxury goods, and had more than 260 million rubles in his accounts and during searches. He registered some of his assets with relatives and acquaintances in order to conceal his illegal actions.
