- The UAV operators of the Vostok group of forces disrupted the Ukrainian Armed Forces counterattack
The operators of attack drones of the Vostok group of forces stopped an attempted counterattack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on January 22 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the ministry, the operators of UAVs of the unmanned systems forces, together with the intelligence officers of the special forces unit, revealed the advance of the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the village of Verkhnyaya Tersa in the direction of Gulyai-Pole. After clarifying the routes for the targets, the calculations of the FPV drones were worked out.
During the strikes, part of the enemy's armored vehicles and vehicles were destroyed, several vehicles were blown up on previously installed minefields and were finished off with pinpoint strikes. As a result, M113 armored personnel carriers, Humvee armored vehicles, as well as Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel were eliminated.
"They give us the area and direction of the target, then it's our job. We take off, find the target, escort it and neutralize it," said the UAV operator with the call sign Busa.
He noted that the calculations work from a distance to remain invisible and effectively support units at the forefront.
Earlier, on January 21, it was reported that units of the Russian group of forces "Center" defeated a number of formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the Azov brigade (the organization is recognized as a terrorist organization in the Russian Federation). The Defense Ministry clarified that several brigades and assault regiments of the enemy were destroyed during the fighting, and its losses exceeded 395 soldiers. A significant amount of equipment and artillery was also eliminated.
