Banknotes of the Russian ruble can become predominantly polymer. Maxim Kuzin, the founder and head of design engineering company KUZIN Machinery, shared this assumption on January 22.

"There will be more and more plastic and fewer paper bills — in addition to practicality, durability and wear resistance, plastic gives designers more opportunities," RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.

It is noted that non-standard colors may be introduced for banknotes, and the images on them will reflect events in the modern history of Russia.
