Kamchatka Governor reports to Putin on the consequences of snowfall
Kamchatka Governor Vladimir Solodov reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the snowfall situation and the progress of work to eliminate its consequences. He announced this on January 22 in his Telegram channel.
"The situation remains difficult. Only four days after the end of the last cyclone, public transport traffic was fully restored," Solodov said.
He added that the region had secured the support of the federal government.
"Thanks to the help of the federal center, more than 20 units of snow removal equipment are ready to be sent to Kamchatka. Our neighbors in the Far East also responded to the help: not only the Sakhalin Region, but also the Primorsky Territory," Solodov wrote.
In addition, the governor announced additional measures — the allocation of funds for the restoration of the road network in the spring and the purchase by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of four units of all-terrain vehicles for hard-to-reach places.
Earlier, on January 20, it was reported that the authorities of Kamchatka appealed to the federal center for support in eliminating the consequences of powerful cyclones, which became the strongest in the last 10 years. Then Governor Solodov noted the lack of high-performance equipment and enlisted the support of Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Yuri Trutnev to allocate the necessary equipment.
