On January 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during an Operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council, noted that the events unfolding in Greenland do not concern our country, and the United States and Denmark are able to resolve this issue on their own.

However, according to Putin, Russia has experience in solving such issues using the example of the sale of Alaska.

The Russian president noted that the United States can buy Greenland from Denmark if it is sold at a price comparable to the cost of Alaska, which is about $250 million.

Putin added that Denmark treated Greenland as a "colony."
