More than 35 Pixel cleaning robots keep order in Moscow
The Pixel unmanned cleaning robot is already working in parks and on the streets of Moscow. This was reported on the website of the Moscow City Hall on Wednesday, January 21.
The first such machines appeared in 2023, and now there are more than 35 robots in operation. In 2024-2025, parks and urban areas with a total area of 618 hectares were cleaned year-round as part of the experiment of the Moscow Innovation Cluster Pixels. Testing has shown that robots provide high-quality cleaning of hard surfaces and perform about half of all park maintenance operations, including snow removal and track washing, while reducing the need for personnel by up to 30%, the Moscow City News Agency reports.
The robot is fully designed and assembled in Moscow, can work up to 16 hours a day, clean up to 2 hectares of territory and navigate safely in space thanks to a sensor system and computer vision. In 2026, the city plans to expand the use of Pixel, test new attachments and consider its use in other areas, from landscaping to construction and repair work, Moscow 24 writes.
