More than 3.8 million trips were recorded on the first tram diameter T1 in Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, January 21, by the press service of the metropolitan Department of Transport.

The department noted that in two months the route has become the most in demand among the tram lines of the capital, writes "Moscow 24". Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry, stressed that such passenger traffic confirms the convenience of the diametrical tram routes with minimal travel intervals and modern carriages. According to him, on behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city continues to develop the tram network and integrate it into a single transport system, making trips faster and more comfortable, the Moscow City News agency reports.

During the operation of the MTD, modern Lvenok-Moscow trams performed more than 23 thousand flights, and the total mileage along the route amounted to 617 thousand km. Daily passenger traffic during peak hours increased to 78 thousand trips, which was one and a half times higher than forecasts. Tram diameter T1 operates according to the standards of the skytrain — with short intervals, convenient transfers to the metro and MCD, and smooth running of autonomous cars, the website writes kp.ru .
