During the five seasons of the All-Russian sports Project competition "You're in the game", 20 million people participated in 21 thousand projects. This was announced on January 21 by Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev at the opening ceremony of the sixth season of the competition during the VTB United Basketball League regular season match between CSKA and Uralmash.

The Sports Minister also drew attention to the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who emphasized that sport is one of the main state priorities.

"Sport is one of the main state priorities, and this competition is aimed at developing sports and encouraging people's initiatives. Over five seasons, 20 million people have participated in 21,000 projects," the minister said.

Degtyarev expressed confidence that this year's million-ruble Grand Prix and 500,000-ruble prizes would be won by the most interesting participants of the event.

The "You're in the Game" contest is aimed at finding and supporting vibrant sports projects that promote physical education and attract Russians to regular sports.

In November last year, Putin said that sport should be outside politics and unite people. Earlier, the Russian leader also noted that politics has no place in sports and these are not empty words for Russia. Putin clarified that sport should not become a hostage to geopolitical contradictions.
