The United States imposes duties against other countries in order to repair the damage they themselves have caused to America. This was announced on January 21 by the American leader Donald Trump during a visit to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
On January 17, Trump announced the introduction of US duties of 10% with the possibility of increasing to 25% against a number of European countries due to the situation around Greenland. Starting from February 1, 2026, tariffs will apply to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Finland.
