Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov said on January 21 that the ministry would consider whether to "open a window of opportunity" for cooperation with Lithuania.

"And when the window of opportunity for resuming cooperation opens, we will have to think several times about how much to open this window and whether it should be opened at all," Ryzhenkov said in an interview with BelTA.

The minister also stated that the Lithuanian government "does not think and is not going to think about its people." According to him, Vilnius listens only to Brussels and Washington and does everything they say.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry protested to Lithuania on December 1 in connection with the violation of airspace by a Lithuanian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The Ministry regarded the border violation as a provocation by Lithuania directed against Minsk and Warsaw.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on December 19 that Belarus is ready to negotiate with Lithuania on problematic issues at the level of diplomats, border guards and prime ministers.
