The Mytishchi City Court of the Moscow region found the nephew of actress Ekaterina Barnabas Georgy guilty of aiding and abetting telephone fraudsters. He was sentenced to forced labor for a period of one year and eight months. This was reported on January 21 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

It is noted that Barnabas fully admitted his guilt and stated that he repented of what he had done. George explained that he decided to work as a courier after seeing a vacancy in the messenger.

According to Georgy, he was aware that he was transporting funds, but did not know either the specific amounts or the amount of remuneration.

On the same day, the state prosecution asked the court to sentence Barnabas' nephew to two years of probation. It was clarified that the young man is accused of committing illegal acts under Part 3 of art. 30, Part 3 of art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").

The nephew of the actress in December last year fully admitted his guilt and repented in court. According to the investigation, in February 2025, Georgy was supposed to receive 350 thousand rubles from an 87-year-old pensioner who was deceived by a telephone conman. The bank's employees managed to prevent the crime, and the person involved was detained while trying to take the fake money.
