The shopping center that collapsed in Novosibirsk was built on its own. This was announced on January 21 by the city hall.

The roof collapse in one of the city's shopping malls occurred earlier that day. The Prosecutor's Office of the Novosibirsk region organized an investigation into the incident. The mayor's office reported two casualties as a result of the incident.
