On January 23 and 24, the premiere of the play "The Captain's Daughter" directed by Oleg Dolin will take place at the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater.

"The Captain's Daughter" is one of the most original and multi–layered works by Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, in which the interweaving of fate and a series of coincidences form an amazing plot. In Oleg Dolin's theatrical fantasy, viewers will see this story through the eyes of Petrusha Grinev, a rookie sergeant whose fate was drastically changed by a chance encounter with a mysterious traveler.

"Is it possible to live without asking yourself painful questions? Is it possible to get rid of the constant feeling of guilt when you know that the atrocities committed around you will not disappear? Is it right to see and feel all this? Is it possible to continue asking yourself all these questions without remorse? Of course, Pushkin does not give us direct answers, but he speaks to us in today's language. The problem that interests us in The Captain's Daughter is the crossroads at which the Russian intellectual stands. The story of a personal debt to a convict and a rebel, who for everyone was a bloody murderer, but for Grinev turned out to be a benefactor and savior, today sounds like a call to remember the good. Good in the highest sense. Goodness is a purifying force that can change a person's soul forever," Dolin said.
