The expert assessed the likelihood of Israeli strikes on Iran
The likelihood of an Israeli strike on Iran in the near future remains low, despite the high level of regional tensions. This was stated on January 21 during a round table of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) on the topic: "The situation in the Middle East: risks of military escalation around Iran" at the Izvestia News Center, Lyudmila Samarskaya, Head of the Regional Relations Study Group at the Primakov Center for Near Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In her opinion, the Israeli side is currently demonstrating its unpreparedness for another round of military confrontation. Although a military scenario cannot be completely ruled out in the long term, there is currently no practical interest in starting hostilities.
