Lukashenko demanded to release a fully Belarusian passenger car

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko demanded that the management of the Belji enterprise produce a fully Belarusian passenger car. He stated this during a visit to the Minsk International Exhibition Center, the words of the Belarusian leader are quoted by BelTA.

"So that all your cars get a quality mark. Don't forget what you promised me. I remember. You're not going anywhere until you make 100% your own car. Set a task for whoever you want. But the cars should all be ours. Well, 100% localization is unwise, and unnecessary. You know how much you need. And I know," Lukashenko addressed the director of Belji, Gennady Svidersky.

The symbols of the State Quality Mark were presented at the event, and it was awarded to the Belgee X50 crossover. It is reported that Lukashenko was presented with a certificate for a restyled Belgee X50+, which has not yet gone on sale. The Head of State noted that he would give away the car, as well as all such gifts.

Belgee said that the restyled version of the X50 (the car is based on the Chinese Geely Coolray of the first generation) will be equipped with a four-cylinder engine instead of a three-cylinder engine. The electronic component will also be improved, adaptive cruise control will appear. It is noted that the company has already released the first 20 prototypes of the updated model.
