The court imposed a fine of 1,000 rubles on the person involved in smashing a memorial plaque on the house of murdered journalist Anna Politkovskaya in Moscow. This was reported on January 21 in the joint press service of the courts of the capital.

"The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow has fined a hooligan who smashed a memorial plaque on Anna Politkovskaya's house. The court found Alexander Sergeevich Filippov guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation," the report says.
