Azerbaijan accepted Trump's offer to join the "Peace Council" on Gas
Azerbaijan has accepted an invitation to the "Peace Council" for the settlement of the Gaza Strip, created on the initiative of US President Donald Trump. This was announced on January 21 by the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
"The Republic of Azerbaijan accepted the invitation and notified the American side of its intention to become a founding member of the Peace Council," the website says.
The press service also clarified that in the future, a confirmation letter will be sent to the American side about participation in the council. It is noted that Azerbaijan is ready to actively promote international cooperation and stability in the world.
On the eve, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky questioned his country's participation in the "Peace Council" on the settlement in the Gaza Strip due to the fact that Russia and Belarus were invited there. Nevertheless, he added that Ukrainian diplomats are working on responding to the US invitation to the Peace Council.
Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on January 19 that the Russian leader had received an invitation from the United States to join the Peace Council. At the same time, Trump sent an appeal to Lukashenko with a proposal from Belarus to become a founder of the Peace Council. The Belarusian leader positively assessed this proposal.
