Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of being unable to cope with the critical situation in Kiev's energy sector. This was announced on January 20 by the deputy in an interview with the Times newspaper.

"My first question is addressed to Zelensky, especially after all these corruption scandals. We have five or six situation centers to prepare for a Russian attack," Zheleznyak said.

The parliamentarian added that the military administration associated with Zelensky's office has been operating in the capital for four years, while Kiev has the largest municipal budget in the country.

"And I'm sitting here in the cold," the deputy said, blaming Mayor Vitali Klitschko for the situation.

Earlier, on January 19, it was reported that Kiev was returning to medieval conditions due to the crisis in the communal sector. Residents complain about frozen food at fairs, high prices and the dilapidated state of public infrastructure, including ruptured pipes, flooded parking lots and non-functioning heating systems.
