The State Duma named the conditions for the use of paper workbooks

The use of paper or electronic workbooks remains solely for the employee. This was announced on January 21 by Ekaterina Stenyakina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

"By December 31, 2020, already employed employees had to choose the option of keeping a workbook — a traditional paper document or an electronic one. To do this, they submitted a written statement in free form to the employer. If an employee chose the electronic option and refused paper work, he was given a document in his hands to sign," RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.

It is noted that when choosing the paper format of the workbook, the employee will have to keep it.

Stenyakina stressed that if an employee submitted an application for providing information about their work in electronic form and received a work record with a closing entry, they would not be able to return the paper work record.
