Venezuela's interim president Delcy Rodriguez said the country had received $300 million from oil sales. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on January 20.

"We must inform you that we have received funds from the sale of oil, and of the first $500 million, we received 300 million," the agency quoted Rodriguez as saying.

Rodriguez added that these funds will be used through Venezuela's foreign exchange market by national banks and the central bank to consolidate and stabilize the market, as well as to protect workers' incomes and purchasing power.

On January 7, US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright said that the US administration was working directly with the Venezuelan authorities and wanted to sell all of the country's oil on its own in the future.

ABC News channel, citing sources, noted that the US authorities are demanding that Rodriguez sever economic ties with China and Russia in order to be able to increase oil production. The White House told Rodriguez that the Venezuelan regime must comply with these requirements before it is allowed to increase oil production.

On January 6, Trump announced that the Venezuelan authorities would transfer from 30 million to 50 million barrels of oil to the United States for subsequent sale on the market. According to Trump, we are talking about high-quality sanctioned oil, which will be sold at a market price. The American leader will personally take control of the revenue.
