"President Macron is lying when he talks about the strategic autonomy and economic sovereignty of Europe, because there can be no question of any autonomy and sovereignty," he said.

Mezyuho noted that European countries had all this when the European Union (EU) was building relations with Russia in the field of hydrocarbons, gas, oil, and other types of economic cooperation. According to him, at the moment we are talking about "saving the European skin" against the background of the idea of "the right of the strong", and the one who has more rights in relation to the US allies on the European continent is right.

Europe, as the political scientist pointed out, is even ready to start talking with the Russian Federation amid fear and uncertainty over the policies of American leader Donald Trump.
