Over the year, residents of Northern Tushin have sent more than 70 tons of humanitarian supplies to their area.

Last year, residents and public advisers of the capital's Severnoye Tushino district collected and transferred more than 70 tons of humanitarian aid to the special military operation zone. This was reported by the press service of the prefecture of the North-Western Administrative District of Moscow.

Necessary items are delivered to the front, as well as to medical institutions where wounded soldiers are being treated and recovering. The cargo includes long-term storage products, warm clothing, generators, camping heaters, and tactical stretchers. The last shipments included 600 dugout candles and handmade items such as camouflage nets, socks, as well as letters and small gifts from residents of the area. Some of the assistance is targeted — at the request of volunteers, medical institutions and coordination centers. In addition, cargo is separately generated for the civilian population of the liberated territories.

The collected items are sent about once a month. The next shipment is scheduled to be delivered in early February.

Work on collecting and sending aid to the SVO zone has been underway in Northern Tushino since March 2022. It is organized and coordinated by the public advisers of the district council, about 10 people in total.

"We started with a small batch — then we handed over tea, coffee, sweets, groceries, clothes. We collected everything in the apartment, but over time, the help became systematic. The city council allocated a room, volunteers joined the work, and a real community gradually formed around the gathering point. Now people come to us not only to deliver things, but also to find out the news and support each other. People come from other districts because they know that they receive help here regularly," said Irina Chelysheva, a public adviser.
