More than 2 thousand cars without license plates were evacuated in Moscow in a year
In 2025, tow trucks from Moskovsky Parking moved 2.1 thousand cars without license plates or with fake license plates to special parking lots. On January 20, the metropolitan Department of Transport announced this in its Telegram channel.
BMW cars were most often among such vehicles in special parking lots, 253 cars of this brand were moved during the year. Next in the anti-rating are Mercedes-Benz (142 units) and Geely (125 units). Lada (95 units) and Toyota (91 units) rounded out the top five.
Since 2017, by decision of the Anti-Terrorist Commission, vehicles have been taken away for verification of possible involvement in offenses. The police are investigating whether the car was stolen and whether the criminals used it.
"These cars may pose a threat: they may be stolen or used for criminal purposes," said Maxim Liksutov, Moscow's Deputy mayor for Transport.
Earlier, on January 16, it was reported that last year bailiffs of the FSSP and inspectors of the MADI arrested 28 cars. The owners of these cars parked under forbidding signs and on lawns, and also accumulated debts on fines totaling more than 6 million rubles.
