The UAE President accepted Trump's invitation to join the "Peace Council" on Gaza
The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has accepted the invitation of his American counterpart Donald Trump to join the "Peace Council" on Gaza. The relevant information was published on the official website of the ministry on January 20.
"His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, has accepted the invitation of the United States to join the Peace Council, as announced by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs," the statement said.
In addition, they reaffirmed their confidence in Trump's commitment to global peace, as well as the importance of fully implementing the 20-point peace plan to resolve the conflict in Gaza.
On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia does not yet have full information about the initiative to create the so-called "Peace Council" and expects to clarify all issues during contacts with the American side. He noted that at the moment it is premature to draw conclusions about the format and content of the initiative, since it is not known whether it is limited to the situation in the Gaza Strip or assumes a broader international context.
In turn, on January 20, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that the Russian side had received from the United States a draft charter of the "Peace Council" on the management of the Gaza Strip. According to him, at the moment, the administration of US President Donald Trump is aware of the need not only to unite a large number of states, but also to take into account their interests.
