Oncologist, PhD Evgeny Cheremushkin said that the risk of developing cancer increases significantly from regular consumption of alcoholic beverages.

In conversation with aif.ru On Tuesday, January 20, the expert explained that when drinking alcohol, the pancreas and stomach are primarily affected, since alcohol actually causes burns to these organs. According to him, damage to the mucous membrane leads to the development of chronic inflammatory processes: the gastrointestinal tract reacts to irritation by increased production of secretions, including bile.

The doctor also noted that in combination with smoking, irregular diet, consumption of fatty and spicy foods, as well as stress, the risk of developing stomach and pancreatic cancer increases significantly.

The oncologist emphasized that the main risk group for stomach cancer are smokers and alcohol drinkers with at least 15-20 years of experience. He explained that when saliva is swallowed, toxins regularly enter the body, and if a person starts smoking and drinking at the age of 20-25, then after 15-20 years the probability of an oncological diagnosis becomes high. According to him, it is in this group that the main peak of morbidity occurs at the age of 40-50 years.

On January 19, Cheryomushkin warned that fast food increases the risk of cancer. Its regular use negatively affects the digestive system and can provoke inflammatory reactions, which are considered a risk factor for cancer, the website writes. kp.ru .

In December, cardiologist Oliver Guttman called for not treating wine as medicine. According to him, alcohol consumption is associated with health risks. Among them are high blood pressure, liver disease and cancer, according to 360.ru .

At the same time, doctor Alexander Kalyuzhin said that beer, wine and strong alcohol have the same carcinogenic potential. He added that alcohol consumption is associated with an increased risk of developing malignancies.

In November, Cheryomushkin said that stomach cancer at an early stage can disguise itself as gastritis. Only a qualified examination by a doctor will make it possible to determine that chronic inflammatory changes have turned into cancer, RT notes.

In September, cardiac surgeon Leo Bokeria warned that the liver suffers the most from alcohol. According to him, this is an organ that is "even more significant in the vital activity of the body" than the heart, according to NSN.

Earlier, Elena Andreeva, director of the Institute of Reproductive Medicine at the State Scientific Center of the National Research Institute of Endocrinology of the Russian Ministry of Health, called obesity and alcohol consumption the main factors in the development of breast cancer. According to her, the stress of living in a megalopolis can also affect the disease, writes the Moscow city News agency.
