Large-scale overhaul of the Vimpel sports complex has started in Korolev

A large-scale overhaul of the Vimpel sports complex has started in Korolev, Moscow region. The regional Ministry of the construction complex reported this with reference to the administration of the municipality on Tuesday, January 20.

The contractor has already entered the facility, located at 10 Oktyabrsky Boulevard. This is the historic four-hall building of the stadium, built in 1962. The old decoration is being dismantled in the building and unnecessary partitions are being removed.

According to the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, the repair project provides for a complete replacement of engineering networks, flooring and lighting, a change in layout and the installation of new equipment. The contractor will also replace the roof and insulate the facade.

The four-hall building includes a gymnasium and multipurpose halls, a martial arts hall and a game room. After the renovation, it will have more than 10 sections, including volleyball, badminton, weightlifting and other sports. It is planned to complete the work by the end of 2026.

In the fall of 2025, the overhaul of the sports and recreation complex started in Noginsk in the Moscow region. The Znamya sports complex, built in 1966, will also replace all engineering networks and roofing, and perform many other works.
