Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov jokingly corrected an Italian journalist, pronouncing his patronymic with an emphasis on the penultimate syllable. This happened during a press conference on the results of Russian diplomacy in 2025.

Earlier, the journalist addressed the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, by name and patronymic to thank her for the opportunity to ask a question. She also addressed Lavrov: "Thank you, Mr. Lavrov."

"And Sergey Viktorovich," the minister added jokingly, emphasizing the penultimate syllable in his patronymic in the Italian manner.
