In the Lomonosovsky district of the Leningrad region, a male pedestrian was killed as a result of a car collision. This is reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

The hit-and–run occurred on Monday evening, January 19, on the 17th km of the Strelna–Kipen-Gatchina highway in the village of Ropsha. According to the traffic police, a 68-year-old Saab 9-7X driver hit a man who was crossing the roadway outside a pedestrian crossing.

As a result of the accident, the pedestrian received various injuries, from which he died on the spot, writes 78.ru . His identity and the circumstances of the incident are being established.

In total, 241 road accidents occurred on Russian roads over the past day, in which 20 people were killed and 311 injured. As reported to Izvestia by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry, 16 of the dead were drivers and passengers, four were pedestrians.
