More than 31 thousand Krasnoyarsk residents took part in the Epiphany celebration

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, more than 31 thousand people took part in events dedicated to the Epiphany of the Lord. In 54 cities and towns, 128 events were held at 94 religious sites over two days, on January 18 and 19.

Such data is reported by KrasnoyarskMedia news agency with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region.

Order during the events was ensured by 543 employees of the Department of Internal Affairs and 112 employees of the Rosgvardiya. They were assisted by 108 members of the people's brigades, 31 Cossacks of the Yenisei Cossack army and 27 employees of private security companies. No violations of public order were recorded.

Earlier it was reported that more than 102 thousand citizens plunged into the water at specially equipped sites in the Moscow region during the celebration of Epiphany. Epiphany night in the Moscow region passed without incidents and accidents thanks to the joint efforts of rescuers, doctors, police and volunteers.

Earlier that day, celebrations in honor of the Epiphany of the Lord were held in the church of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, attended by parishioners. A solemn service was held in the church of the Ministry of Defense, located in the Odintsovo city district of the Moscow region. The servicemen, along with the clergy, entered the temple with icons of Jesus Christ, portable lanterns and crosses. During the Divine Liturgy, parishioners prayed in front of the icon of the Savior Not Made with Hands, and then attended the great consecration of water.
