- The anniversary performance of the play "Singing Strings of the Soul" will be celebrated at the Roman Theater
On January 23, the 100th screening of the musical melodrama "Singing Strings of the Soul" will take place at the Roman Theater. The play tells the story of the birth of a legend — the only Romani theater in the world. The plot centers on the story of the difficult fates, creative searches and personal dramas of three outstanding personalities: Mikhail Yanshin, the founder and first artistic director of the theater, Nikolai Khmelev, a brilliant member of the Moscow Art Theater, and Lyalya Chernaya, a brilliant prima ballerina and "gypsy goddess."
The play by Vyacheslav Romanov and Nikolai Sergienko is a story about people whose lives were intertwined by their love for the theater and each other. A story about dignity, sacrifice and the incredible power of art, which is able to overcome any obstacles — even the harsh trials of war and the complexities of human relationships.
The director of photography and performer of one of the main roles, People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Sergienko created a multifaceted action in which the Moscow Art Theater School meets the sparkling gypsy element. Thanks to Mikhail Yanshin, the Roman Theater has been enriched with a classical repertoire, and the play "Singing Strings of the Soul" vividly shows this synthesis of high drama and folk passion.
The production became an anthem of fortitude, love and dedication to art. The central roles are played by: Lala Chernaya as Angela Lekareva, Nikolai Khmelev as Nikolai Sergienko, Mikhail Yanshin as Nikolai Lekarev Jr., Sergey Surakov. And also: Irena Morozova, Luisa Abbasova, Boris Vasilevsky, Artur Buldyzhenko and other artists.
