On January 20, the Public Relations Center of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia showed footage of the liquidation of a resident of Kislovodsk involved in the preparation of a terrorist attack against a serviceman in the Stavropol Territory.

According to the FSB, the attacker acted on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services. The published footage, captured by a night-vision camera from a drone, shows the suspect getting out of the car and trying to hide in the woods. He is followed by operatives in an official car.

The terrorist offered armed resistance, opening fire on the FSB officers. During the exchange of fire, he was destroyed by return fire. The body of the attacker, a pistol and a grenade were found at the scene.

It became known earlier that day that a Russian citizen from Kislovodsk, who was involved in the terrorist attack against military personnel in Stavropol that was prevented in December 2025, had been eliminated. According to the FSB, the man acted on instructions from the Ukrainian special services — he equipped a cache with an explosive device, which was used by a terrorist detained earlier to mine a car near a military unit.
