The head of the Star City, Evgeny Barishevsky, who is suspected of receiving a large bribe, has been placed under house arrest. This was reported on January 20 by RIA Novosti, citing a source in the court.
"Barishevsky has been given a preventive measure in the form of house arrest," the agency's source said.
The official is suspected under paragraph "b" of part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for liability for receiving large-scale bribes. The details of the criminal case were not disclosed.
According to the electronic file of the Tverskoy Court, the investigating authorities requested the arrest of Barishevsky, but the court refused to choose this preventive measure.
